CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE (CNA) TRAINING
COURSE DESCRIPTION

C.N.A Training consists of two courses – lecture/lab plus clinical classes offered year round during morning or evening time slots.

Traditional Classes (144 clock hours)

  • NURA 1001 Nurse Aide for Health Care Organizations
    96 clock hours (Lecture / Lab)
  • NURA 1060 Certified Nurse Aide Clinical
    48 clock hours

Bilingual Classes - Spanish and English (160 clock hours)

Fast Track Classes
   For students with previous health care experience (96 clock hours)

Prerequisites

NURA 1001

  • Mandatory attendance at one Orientation Session
  • Submission of high school diploma or GED OR
  • Scoring at the 7th grade level on reading comprehension test (TABE)
  • Purchase textbook

NURA 1060

  • Uniform (navy blue scrubs) w/ school patch
  • Stethoscope
  • Watch w/ second hand
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Hepatitis B Vaccination
