How long is the course?

Our C.N.A Training is nine (9) weeks (144 clock hours) in length. The first six (6) weeks is dedicated to lecture and lab practice. The last three (3) weeks is for clinical practice in a long-term care facility. The Fast Track class six (6) weeks or 96 clock hours in length (64 clock hours lecture/lab and 32 clock hours clinical).

How much does it cost?

Tuition for the first six weeks (96 clock hours) is $389 which must be paid at the time of enrollment. Tuition for the remaining three week(48 clock hours) clinical class is $261 which must be paid during the last week of the previous class prior to the first day of class. Total tuition = $650

Tuition for the seven (7) week Bilingual C.N.A class (112 clock hours) is $453 and is due at the time of enrollment. The three (3) week (48 clock hours) clinical class costs $261. Total tuition = $714

Tuition for the Fast Track (lecture/lab) Class (4) weeks (64 clock hours) is $261. The two week (32 clock hours) clinical class is $195. Total tuition = $456

Textbook: Information regarding the textbook currently in use in the class will be available at the Orientation Session. A list of the uniform and immunization requirements will also be distributed at the Orientation Session.

What days and times are the classes offered?

Classes are offered during the morning (8:30am-12:30pm) and evening (5:30pm-9:30pm) Monday through Thursday. Fast Track classes may be offered on Friday evenings(5:30-9:30pm and Saturday (8:30am-2:30pm) or Monday-Thursday based on class need. Please note that Fast Track classes that meet only on Friday and Saturday will actually meet for nine (9) weeks total in order to get in the number of required hours of study. Eleven (11) students are required to make each class.

What is the earning potential for a Certified Nurse Aide?

Although income will depend on the area of employment the graduate chooses, one can expect to start at between $7 - $10 per hour.

Where can a Certified Nurse Aide work?

Students are prepared for entry-level employment in long-term health care facilities, doctors’ offices, home health agencies and hospitals.

What are state certification requirements?

Students must successfully complete a state-approved nurse aide training program and test within 24 months after completion. There are two parts to the state exam – Skills examination followed by a written exam. Students are allowed to fail one skill and still pass that portion of the exam. Oral English or Oral Spanish exams are available as an alternative to the written exam. Testing fees are as follows: $76 for Skills and written exam; $89 for Oral English or Oral Spanish exams. Students must pay another fee if a portion of the test has to be repeated.

The nurse aide certification will expire twenty four months after testing or after the last date of verified employment. In order to maintain certification an Employment Verification Form must be submitted to the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services every 2 years to document paid nurse aide employment. If you have NOT worked in a healthcare setting at anytime during a 24 month period, you must retake the exam to be re-certified.

Once the Certified Nurse Aide Training is completed, several opportunities to move up in the healthcare industry are available: Medical Assistant, Medication Aide, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Phlebotomy Tech, Electrocardiography Tech, Pharmacy Tech, Operating Room Tech, Registered Nurse.
