CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE (CNA) TRAINING

Houston Community College Southeast is a state approved site for Certified Nurse Aide (C.N.A.) Training. The classes are based on the official state curriculum and teach the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents of long-term care facilities. Upon completion of the C.N.A. Training Classes, students are eligible to take the State of Texas Certification Examination. Upon passing the exam, students’ names are added to the Certified Nurse Aide State Registry. The Houston Community College Southeast cumulative pass rate for the state certification examination is 98.2 percent.

HCC Southeast established the Certified Nurse Aide Training Classes in 1986 in response to the community’s need for increased numbers of Certified Nurse Aides in area health care facilities and to help meet the state requirement for certification of these workers. CNA classes are also offered at the Southwest and the Northwest Colleges. Information about classes at these sites can be found on their web pages."
