Massage Therapy Program Instructors


Karen Craft, BA, RMT, MTI
Karen Craft has been a Massage Therapist since 1999. She specializes in sports and rehab massage and reflexology. Karen teaches Business Practices, parts of the Swedish Massage class, Health and Hygiene, and Internship. Karen is one of two instructors in HCC's Massage Therapy for People with Cancer program. She is a graduate of University of St. Thomas, Houston.


Deborah Kelly, RMT, MTI, Certified Breema Practitioner and Instructor
Deborah Kelly is Program Director for the HCC Massage Therapy Program. She has been a massage therapist practicing and teaching in the Houston area since 1995. Deborah specializes in Prenatal Massage and she is a certified Breema Bodywork practitioner and instructor.


Arnetta Meekins, RMT, MTI
Arnetta Meekins has been an instructor at HCC since June of 2003. She teaches Swedish Massage and also spearheads recruitment for the Massage Therapy Program. She has been a massage therapist since 1999. Her private practice specialty is corporate chair massage.


Tammy Moody, RMT, MTI
Tammy Moody has been a massage therapy instructor since 1993. She has had a private massage practice for 15 years and has been an instructor at HCC since May 2003. She teaches Hydrotherapy, parts of the Swedish Massage class and Internship.


Darienne Owings, RMT, MTI
Darienne Owings has been a Massage Therapist since 1999. Darienne assists in Swedish Massage class and Internship. She specializes in deep tissue massage, myofascial and trigger point therapy.


Stephen Pare', BA, RMT, MTI, Certified Rolfer
Stephen Pare' has been a bodyworker since 1984. He has had an active Rolfing practice in Houston since February 2000. Stephen is a graduate of University of California, Santa Cruz. He edits books and articles written by a number of well-known educators in the bodywork profession. He is also a professional musician, and enjoys photography and making videos. Stephen teaches Anatomy and Physiology, and continuing education courses at HCC in Advanced A & P and Medical Massage.


Khaliah Richards, RMT, MTI
Khaliah Richards has been an RMT since 2000. Completed MTI in 2002 in order to be able to share and have a positive influence on the massage therapists of the future. Khaliah teaches in the Internship program and her specialty, which is Hot Stone Massage. She is also one of the instructors in the Massage for Expectant Mothers program.


Adrian Scharfetter, RMT, MTI, BFA, EMT-B
Adrian Scharfetter has been a massage therapist since 2001 and an instructor at HCC since June 2004. His specialties are Shiatsu and Thai Massage. He teaches parts of HCC's Swedish Massage class and make-up classes. Adrian also teaches HCC's Medical Massage class and is developing a class in Eastern massage modalities.


Rowan TwoSisters, RMT, MTI
Rowan TwoSisters is a massage therapist, medic, minister, midwife, and Master of Reiki. As a nurturopath, she specializes in Prenatal, Labor, and Postpartum bodywork. She also facilitates healing for trauma survivors and those uncomfortable in their own skin. She raises dogs, cats and chickens. Rowan teaches documentation (SOAP Notes) for massage therapists in the Swedish and Internship classes, Hot Stone Massage Class and is one of the instructors in HCC's Prenatal Massage Therapy program.


Judy Walker, RMT, MTI
Judy Walker has been an instructor at HCC since June 2004. She has been a massage therapist since 1999. She specializes in Somato-Respiratory Integration and chair massage. Judy also drums and dances with a Native American lodge. She teaches Health and Hygiene, parts of the Swedish Massage class and make-up classes for the Massage Therapy Program. Judy is also an instructor in HCC's Massage Therapy for People with Cancer program.
