HOW DO I APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID?

1. Student or parents of student needs to apply for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. (It will allow student to sign for application electronically)
2. Complete and submit the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. (PIN(s) will be used to provide the requested electronic signature(s))
3. Student will be able to access the Student Aid Report (SAR) online using the PIN.
4. Print the SAR, in PDF form, and SUBMIT the printout along with the previous year Income Tax Returns of student's/spouse of student/parent(s) of student to the Financial Aid Office. (Financial Aid Office might request for additional documents)
5. If students have attended any other colleges, universities, vocational, and/or technical schools, student MUST submit copies of the Academic transcripts to the Financial Aid Office.
6. New HCCS Financial Aid student must complete an on-line Financial Aid Orientation and submit a printout of the confirmation form. The orientation website is http://swc2.hccs.cc.tx.us/financial/FAOrient/OrientFA.html.
